The prince who gave light [to be published September 18]
with illustrations by Martijn van der Linden

I actually never write fairy tales. But suddenly this story appeared: a story about a hidden little prince who turns out to have a special quality. He can give light. This is not appreciated by his father, the harsh king of the land.
The prince who gave light is a small exploration – in the form of a colorful story – into what we can do against harsh leaders. Is our small light still seen? How can we continue to spread affection, attention, and music when that is forbidden? And who wins in the end?

I am overjoyed that the amazing Martijn van der Linden wanted to create the color illustrations for this book. He adds warmth and background to everything, turning it into a vibrant portrayal. Thank you, Martijn!

As always the book design is by Roald Triebels.
