Hannes and Hassan know more than you
with illustrations by Martijn van der Linden

This slim volume is the first part of a new project: the 12-and-a-half series. You can read more about what it entails here.

The illustrations in this first 12-and-a-half volume are by Martijn van der Linden. We previously collaborated on the poetry collections What to do when you trip over a hippo (WWat je moet doen als je over een nijlpaard struikelt) and Happy and blissful (Gelukkig en blij).
In the latter book, the two cats Hannes and Hassan already made an appearance. They are each other's best enemies and greatest friends. It turned out that there was much more poetry in them, and you can read those poems in this book.

For example, they talk about how annoying it is when your owner sits down to read and doesn't pay attention to you, about the first crush of the two cats, and about their megalomaniacal thoughts about what happens after this life. But there's also the cow Golden Rose (in this volume, unlike in Happy and blissful, she is not yet dead). And there's also a turtle who has something to say about space travel and dreams.

The volume costs only 12 euros and 50 cents, and it includes a preview of the second part of this series: Aunts are awesome (uncles as well) (Tantes zijn fantastisch (oom ook), with illustrations by Max-Velthuijs Prize winner Philip Hopman.
