A French nomination
In France, the Prix Sorcières has existed since 1986 – a renowned children's book award that honors books in six categories. Before the award, there are five nominations in each of those categories. And here's exciting news: in the category Passionnant Mini (children's books for younger readers), Mischka, the French translation by Maurice Lomré of Misjka, has been nominated.
I wrote the book with Anoush Elman, and Annet Schaap created the illustrations. It was published in the Netherlands by Querido, and in France by L’école des loisirs. Now, we just have to wait to see who will win the award! We'll know in a few weeks.
